Ballard Luncheon with Brian Coyle, President & CEO, The Henderson Group

Wednesday, February 18, 2026
12:00 to 1:00 pm

Brian Wilbur Coyle is President and CEO of the Henderson Group, a privately held real estate investment and development firm based outside Philadelphia. He oversees the firm’s full investment lifecycle, including acquisitions, development, asset management, capital planning, leasing, construction, and property management. Under his leadership, the Henderson Group manages more than 3.1 million square feet of industrial, office, and retail real estate and supports over 200 tenants across Pennsylvania and Florida.

Since becoming CEO in 2013, Brian has led more than $600 million in real estate transactions, including value-add acquisitions, new construction, refinancings, recapitalizations, and dispositions. His responsibilities include structuring institutional-quality capital solutions, managing complex entitlement and permitting processes, and executing long-term reinvestment strategies designed to enhance asset performance and tenant experience. He is closely involved in both strategic planning and day-to-day operations, with a leadership approach rooted in disciplined execution and long-term value creation.

Brian’s passion for real estate began early through exposure to a family-owned real estate business that focused on consulting, brokerage, property management, and development. That experience provided a broad view of the industry and shaped his appreciation for the many professional paths within real estate. After completing his undergraduate studies in business economics, he earned a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Johns Hopkins University, where he became focused on pursuing a career in real estate development.

Before joining The Henderson Group full-time, Brian built a foundation in real estate consulting and appraisal, advising clients on complex valuation assignments across asset classes and geographic markets. This work sharpened his analytical rigor and understanding of risk, capital structures, and public policy. A subsequent consulting engagement with The Henderson Group developed into a long-term leadership role, culminating in his appointment as Chief Executive Officer as the first non-family leader in the firm’s fourth-generation history.

As a leader, Brian views himself as an operator with a strategic lens. He has built institutional-grade processes around capital planning, compliance, reporting, and risk management while maintaining an entrepreneurial culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.  In addition to his executive responsibilities, Brian is actively involved in mentorship and education. Within the Henderson Group, he works closely with early-career professionals to support their technical and professional development. He has also guest lectured at Johns Hopkins University and Temple University, sharing practical perspectives on real estate development, operations, and career paths within the industry.
