The author describes the academic career of Peter Linneman and highlights some of his most important research contributions: leading papers on housing, the minimum wage, and consumer safety standards and the economic role of regulation. His longest-running and most influential research program is on the subject of housing, including home-ownership and affordability. Through his research, the writing of a widely used real estate economics textbook, the Wharton Real Estate Review, and the founding of the Zell-Lurie Real Estate Center, Linneman has been a major influence on both the academy and industry.
